Biography
Aymen Fikri is a Moroccan dancer, choreographer and movement artist born in Rabat in 1995. Rooted in popping and boogaloo culture, he developed his practice through battles, travels, video analysis and human encounters.
His work blends popping, boogaloo, animation, tutting, strutting, liquid, funk styles and contemporary influences. For him, technique is important, but illusion, intention and freedom are even more essential.
He has performed internationally with Danser Casa, directed by Mourad Merzouki and Kader Attou, and later with Compagnie Käfig in works such as Pixel and Phénix. He also created the solo One Man Pop, choreographed by Anthony Égéa.
With over 600 performances in more than 30 countries, Aymen is now developing his own artistic research through NABD, his company whose name means “heartbeat” in Arabic. His current work explores the relationship between movement, illusion, digital animation, transmission and human connection.
